Day 01

Into the Central Highlands

Schedule: Meet your private chauffeur at Colombo Airport and begin your journey into Sri Lanka’s lush central hills towards Kandy.

Afternoon: Check into your hotel before exploring the Royal Botanical Gardens in Peradeniya. Later, visit the revered Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic and experience the atmosphere of Kandy in the evening.

Day 02

Waterfalls & Little England

Kandy · Ramboda · Nuwara Eliya

Morning: Travel deeper into the highlands via the winding Ramboda Pass, stopping at the impressive Ramboda Falls before visiting a high country tea factory to discover how Ceylon tea is produced.

Afternoon: Continue to Nuwara Eliya, set high among the tea covered mountains. After checking in, take a relaxed walk around Lake Gregory and enjoy traditional English style high tea.

Day 03

Cloud Forests & World's End

Morning: Set out early for Horton Plains National Park and follow a scenic trail through montane grasslands and cloud forest towards the dramatic World's End viewpoint and Baker's Falls.

Afternoon: Return to Nuwara Eliya and discover some of the town’s colonial character, including its historic red brick post office. Enjoy a relaxed evening in the cool mountain air.

Day 04

Tea Ridges & Lipton's Seat

Nuwara Eliya · Haputale

Morning: Continue through the highlands towards Haputale, a peaceful hill town perched along a narrow mountain ridge with sweeping views towards Sri Lanka’s southern plains.

Afternoon: Take a tuk tuk through the Dambatenne Tea Estate to Lipton's Seat, where panoramic views unfold across the surrounding tea country. Return through the estate and take time to experience the rhythm of life among the tea fields.

Day 05

The Highland Railway to Ella

Haputale · Demodara · Ella

Morning: Board the scenic mountain train from Haputale towards Ella, travelling through tea country, forests and deep valleys as the railway winds through the highlands.

Afternoon: Settle into your Ella retreat before visiting the iconic Nine Arches Bridge. Take in the surrounding hills and, if timing allows, watch the train pass across the historic stone viaduct.

Day 06

Sunrise Peaks & Mountain Adventure

Ella

About Your Journey

Booking & Payment

A deposit of 20 % is required to confirm your booking.

The remaining 80 % can be paid in cash upon arrival or by bank transfer no later than 3 days before your arrival.

For bank transfers, all applicable bank charges are to be covered by the customer. The full invoice amount must be received by Die kleine Insel.

Cancellation Policy

The 20 % deposit is generally non-refundable.

In the event of cancellations within 30 days before arrival, as well as in the case of no-shows, there is also no entitlement to a refund, as accommodation, transfers and other travel services are arranged and confirmed in advance on a binding basis.
